StreamToWax helps you find vinyl listings for albums from the music and record-library services you connect. We try to collect only what the product needs to scan your library, show your results, and keep the service reliable.

What We Access

When you connect a music or record-library provider, StreamToWax uses the official authorization flow for that provider to read album data needed for a scan, such as artist, album title, release metadata, artwork, and provider identifiers.

StreamToWax requests read-only access where possible. We do not modify, save, delete, reorder, or write to your connected provider libraries.

What We Store

  • Encrypted provider credentials, such as user or OAuth tokens, so the service can run scans for your session.
  • A stable anonymous user identifier for your browser session.
  • Your latest scan result, including album metadata and matched eBay listings.
  • Shared lookup caches for MusicBrainz and eBay search results, keyed by album/search data rather than personal profile information. If you enter a ship-to ZIP for eBay shipping estimates, cache keys use a hashed location value.
  • Programmatic album and artist pages generated from album/listing data when enough high-confidence listings exist.

Cookies

We use an HTTP-only session cookie to keep you signed in after connecting a provider. We also use local browser storage for small interface preferences, such as albums you mark as owned and the ship-to ZIP you enter for shipping estimates.

We use PostHog for product analytics, including page views, button clicks, provider connection events, scan events, and related browser diagnostics. PostHog may use cookies or local storage to remember an anonymous analytics identifier, and product analytics settings may include session replay, heatmaps, and autocapture to help us diagnose broken flows.

Third Parties

StreamToWax uses connected music and record-library providers to read authorized library data, MusicBrainz to improve album matching, eBay to find current vinyl listings and shipping estimates, Amazon to provide optional album search or product links, PostHog for product analytics and diagnostics, Railway to host the app, Cloudflare for DNS and edge security, and Postgres for application storage. eBay and Amazon links may include affiliate tracking.

Affiliate Links

Some outbound eBay and Amazon links are affiliate links. If you buy through those links, StreamToWax may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases. See the Affiliate Disclosure for more detail.

Disconnecting And Deletion

Use the Disconnect button in the app to delete your stored provider credentials and latest scan result from StreamToWax and clear your StreamToWax session cookie. Shared caches and generated public album/artist pages may remain because they are not tied to your personal account.

You can also contact us at [email protected] for help with access or deletion requests.

Security

Provider credentials are encrypted before storage. Access to production systems is limited to operating the service. No internet service can be guaranteed perfectly secure, but we keep the stored data narrow and avoid collecting payment details.

Changes

We may update this policy as StreamToWax changes. The latest version will always be posted here with the updated date above.
